Getting Your Priorities Right
A challenge, inspired by my mate Hannah, that will get you thinking about priorities, mixed in with some thoughts on life and a little bit of Terry Pratchett.

When I started this blog, I committed myself to writing a good quality post once a week. I used to work in IT, so I have an electronic kanban board (posh to do list) with ideas for posts that evolve over time until the day arrives for me to write it.
But it's a lot more random and chaotic than that for me. I need more than the idea and some free time to write. I need some extra spark that helps all the random and weird thoughts come together to write something that has a chance of inspiring the reader. I need inspiration if the outcome has any chance of being inspirational and if I get the right spark, the post flows onto the page, I tidy it up a bit and it's ready to go.
At the time of writing I have 7 posts in draft that range from a title to a few paragraphs. When I created each of them it was going to be the post I wrote next..... but I haven't found that extra spark that I need to get them worthy of your valuable time..... yet.
This week I was checking in on my socials and a post jumped out at me. It was a brilliant challenge from an all-round wonderful human being and fellow Art of Brilliance presenter, Hannah Knowles. It was like everything we do at Art of Brilliance, super simple to understand, seemingly simple to do, but the moment you started thinking about it, it became profound, impactful and hopefully life changing.
It was the spark I was looking for that turns a post from ok to great and as we approach a time for celebration, rest for many and the start of a new year, it's a great time to use it to do some reflection. The difference that made the difference for me this morning was that, even though I've seen it before and used it in sessions I've delivered, it really made me think about things and think a bit deeper. So my hope is that it makes you think a bit and check that you have your priorities right going into forwards.
