The Power of Perspective
A story about super powers, cows, stepping out of your comfort zone, transformational learning and panic attacks. Best wear your pants on the outside for this one.

When I first met Dr. Andy Cope he told a story about a time that his son Ollie was watching an episode of Bob the Builder and how he became entranced with Bob and his much overlooked superpower - his positive attitude ! Nothing's too much trouble for Bob and that inspires his team to go the extra mile for their customers. It's a great little metaphorical story to illustrate that Bob's superpower isn't about wearing a cape, wearing pants on the outside and having super strength or being able to fly. His superpower is his positive attitude and that's a power we all have if we choose to wield it.
But the more I think about all the things us basic, standard humans can do, the more I believe we are bristling with super powers. Kindness is a biggie as is empathy and there are so many others. The great thing about being human is that we don't see them as superpowers, otherwise we would all be strutting about with pants on the outside bigging ourselves up. Can you imagine how much more awful social media would be if we were all spouting about how brilliant we were all of the time ? It's bad enough with just the influencers and narcissists telling us how wonderful they are 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮.
This post is about one of our many superpowers that is often overlooked. The power of perspective.
